Regulation of CO2 Transport: AFEN Responds to the DGEC’s Consultation

AFEN has just published its opinion as part of a consultation by the Directorate-General for Energy and Climate (DGEC) regarding the regulatory framework applicable to CO2 transport infrastructure.

The deployment of CO2 transport infrastructure in France and Europe is essential for scaling up negative emissions, particularly BECCS and DACCS, which will account for the majority of such applications in the long term. AFEN therefore calls for the establishment of a framework conducive to the development of a transport infrastructure scaled to meet future carbon removal needs.

AFEN would like to thank the Ministry of Transition and the DGEC for the opportunity to comment on this matter.
